Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Beyond the breathtaking waters and ribbons of white sand is a land steeped in rich history and ancient wonders. The Maya are believed to have first settled Cozumel by the early part of the 1st millennium AD, and a number of ruins remain on the island. Cozumel is also home to the Mesoamerican Reef, the largest reef system in the Americas. A popular tourist destination known for its balnearios, scuba diving, snorkeling and Mayan archaeological sites, today Cozumel sees over two million visitors per year.
